Semi-truck collides with power pole, leaving thousands in Sunland Park without power

SUNLAND PARK, New Mexico - (UPDATE @ 4:27 p.m.) -- Power has been restored, but crews remain on the scene to repair the damaged power poles.

 

 

El Paso Electric crews are on the scene of a crash to restore power to more than 2,600 customers in Sunland Park.

The crash happened around 2:30 Friday afternoon when a semi-truck collided with a power pole, according to officials.

The crash forced the closure of McNutt Road.

Crews estimated the power to be restored within a couple hours.
