KVIA is in a transition period as it migrates channels in its Las Cruces Translator due to an FCC requirement.
The FCC auctioned part of the spectrum used by broadcasters to wireless carriers. More information on this auction can be found here.
As a result of the auction, KVIA in Las Cruces is required to move. During this transition period, the power level is only 1/3 of the usual operating power.
We expect to complete this transition and be back to full operation by the second week of December.
Since this transition is taking place across the country and affecting multiple stations, vendors are behind in equipment delivery, we are still hoping to have migrated completely on or before the second week of December.
We apologize for this inconvenience, in the meantime, besides re-scanning, moving your outdoor antenna might improve the chances of receiving KVIA.
We hope to improve on this timeline and have the channel migrated to its fully allowed power sooner if possible.
