Joey Carrera

Joey Carrera

Joey Carrera joined KVIA in January 2017.

He is an anchor, reporter and producer, but on occasion you can catch him tracking traffic or weather.

Joey lived in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia; Seattle Washington; Paris, France; and Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

He made the move to Sun City from the Valley of the Sun, Phoenix, Arizona.

Sweltering sunshine is something he just can't escape, which is fitting seen how he started at KVIA waking up bright and early on Good Morning El Paso.

Joey graduated in the top 15 percent from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University, where he was recognized as the Outstanding Student of his class. He also holds a degree in Political Science.

During his time at the Cronkite School, Joey won national awards as a news and weather anchor on Cronkite News, the award-winning news division of Arizona PBS.

He reported live from the Democratic National Convention, and conducted notable interviews with Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio and Mexico's Secretary of Foreign Affairs Claudia Ruiz Massieu.
