Claim Process

What is the Claim Process?

First you will call your insurance provider and start a claim. Then, the adjuster will come out and look at the loss and they will provide you with an adjuster loss summary. From there, that will give you an estimate of cost. No matter if it was denied or something was paid for, the claim is not truly closed. A claims professional that is trained in causation and repair methodology will be able to see if something was missed or incorrect. Understand: adjusters are human, just like you and me, with great stress on them, so mistakes do happen.

Construction Remodeling

Where is the place to spend money on my house and get the best ROI?

There are many different factors that go into this answer and we need to be kind of general here today. On a very old house, the chances are greater to get the best ROI. But it also depends on what you bought it for. a big contributor is location, location, location. But the areas of the home that get the best ROI are kitchens and bathrooms. Most remodels are done for yourself, so you can put more money into remodel than you can get value for. If you are the end user, think: is it worth the money for you to have that luxury?

Roof Inspections

How often should I get my roof inspected and is it required maintenance?

Here in the southwest, with the intensity of the sun, a yearly inspection should be done. The sun and dry climate dehydrates building materials more quickly. This makes life spans decrease rapidly with no attention. Here in El Paso and Southern New Mexico, the use of tar is very common. Tar has no UV protection, which makes it oxidize quickly and can crack in a year. Tar used under a shingle or other penetration is OK because the UV rays don't attack it. There are much better and longer lasting products on the market now, but cost much more (ex: silicones and acrylics).
