Severe weather hit southern New Mexico Friday afternoon and evening. Numerous flash flood watches were issued along with a few severe thunderstorm warnings. Hard hit was Hatch, Leesburg and Las Cruces. According to Doppler radar estimates Hatch received .60" while Las Cruces picked up 1.13". Light rain hit El Paso county just after 6pm extending down to the Lower Valley. No flooding problems developed. Most rainfall estimates for El Paso's westside was around .10" The east side didn't see much rain at all.
A 50% of storms are expected for Saturday with temperatures around 90. Most of next week will be hotter and a bit drier.
