The Detroit Red Wings agreed to terms with left winger Tomas Tatar on a new three-year contract, the team announced Monday.

Tatar, 23, completed his first full NHL season in 2013-14 and ranked sixth on the Red Wings with 39 points (19 goals, 20 assists) in 73 games. He also represented Slovakia at the 2014 Sochi Olympics and had one goal and one assist in four games.

Tatar, who was selected by Detroit in the second round of the 2009 draft, has 24 goals and 23 assists in 100 games for the Red Wings.

Tatar skated in 265 games with Grand Rapids of the American Hockey League from 2009-13, recording 196 points (87 goals, 109 assists) and 152 penalty minutes.
