The Texans will host former Jaguars fullback Greg Jones on a free-agent visit today. Jones has spent his whole career in Jacksonville since being drafted in the second round in 2004 out of Florida State. Jones was the lead blocker for Maurice Jones-Drew during the 2011 season when he won the NFL’s rushing title. He is one of the league’s best blocking fullbacks, though he has never made a Pro Bowl. In 2010, Pro Football Focus ranked Jones as the best fullback in the NFL. In 2011, he was third behind Baltimore’s Vonta Leach and New Orleans’ Jed Collins. Last season, when the Jaguars went 2-14, Jones was ranked 11th. Jones will turn 32 next week and the Jaguars are trending younger with their new regime. The Texans are also hosting incoming rookie Tyrann Mathieu, a former LSU cornerback who spent time in drug rehabilitation in Houston. Mathieu had a strong combine workout last month and is expected to be a third or fourth-round pick, according to Mike Mayock of NFL Network.
