Source: Interim NMSU head football coach to get the job permanently

EL PASO, Texas -

Doug Martin, the recently named interim head coach of the New Mexico State Aggie football team is expected to be named the head coach soon.

A source close to university has told ABC-7 the school has spoken to several coaches, including four on Thursday.

But NMSU has decided on Martin and was negotiating a contract with him Thursday afternoon.

An announcement is expected as soon as Monday.
