Washington Redskins tight end Fred Davis was suspended indefinitely without pay on Wednesday for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy.

Davis, 28, is set to become a free agent in March.

Davis previously served a four-game suspension for a failed drug test.

Davis may have limited options in the NFL. Aside from the off-the-field issues, Davis had just seven catches for 70 yards with a touchdown in 10 games in 2013. He was also slowed by injuries.

Davis was a second-round draft pick in 2008.
