Schiano stayed in the Boston area to be with his father, who became ill during the Buccaneers' 23-3 loss to the New England Patriots. He remained there until other family members arrived.
Schiano returned to work at the team's facility on Monday morning.
Also, a rib injury that Buccaneers wide receiver Vincent Jackson sustained on Sunday against the New England Patriots is not considered serious, according to ESPN.
Jackson is reportedly day-to-day after leaving the game with the injury in the third quarter.
--Arizona Cardinals safety Rashad Johnson lost the tip of his left middle finger after tackling New Orleans Saints running back Darren Sproles during a punt return Sunday, the Arizona Republic reported.
After the play, Johnson went to the sideline, took off his glove and the tip of the finger was still in it.
Johnson stayed in the game but had surgery afterward. The finger was shaved down to the first knuckle. Doctors are concerned about a possible infection since the bone was exposed.
Also, the Cardinals lost two linebackers to season-ending injuries in Sunday's loss to the New Orleans Saints.
Lorenzo Alexander and Sam Acho were placed on injured reserve Monday, according to the team's website.
Alexander sustained a foot fracture and Sam Acho has a broken leg.
--The Dallas Cowboys do not believe that wide receiver Miles Austin's latest hamstring injury is serious, ESPN.com reported.
Austin was injured during the Cowboys' 31-7 rout of the St. Louis Rams on Sunday. He strained his left hamstring in the third quarter while running a deep rout.
--Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Jacoby Jones was hurt early Monday morning after a brawl broke out on a party bus filled with teammates celebrating offensive tackle Bryant McKinnie's birthday, according to TMZ.
Jones was reportedly hit in the head with a bottle and was bleeding.
Baltimore defeated the visiting Houston Texas 30-7 on Sunday. Jones has been sidelined with a knee injury.
--Wide receiver Jeremy Ross was released by the Green Bay Packers one day after fumbling a kickoff against Cincinnati that led to a touchdown for the Bengals.
Ross appeared to indicate he lost site of the ball in the sun. However, he also muffed a punt return in last January's playoff loss at San Francisco that led to a 49ers touchdown.
Ross has played in eight regular-season games over the past two years, averaging 17.9 yards on nine kickoff returns, 20.5 yards on six punt returns and made one catch for 8 yards.
