Kari Lehtonen leaves Tuesday’s game with LBI, will be reassessed Wednesday
Stars goalie Kari Lehtonen left Tuesday’s 5-1 win over Los Angeles after 14:18 in ice time with a lower body injury. “He has a lower-body injury,” Stars coach Glen Gukutzan said. “It’s mild, and we’ll reassess it tomorrow.” Lehtonen experienced some soreness in warm-ups, but tried to play through the injury, so he did not experience an incident, according to a Stars official. He talked to team trainers during a television timeout, and they decided he should leave the game. Lehtonen missed five games from Feb. 17-26 with a groin injury. Back-up goalie Richard Bachman came in and stopped all 22 shots he faced to get the victory. “Solid, real solid,” Gulutzan said. “You could see his rebound control and his confidence, he’s out in his crease. He hasn’t played for a while so it’s good for him.”
