Beyonce and Jay-Z are reportedly planning a 20-date stadium tour and UTEP plans on making a pitch to bring them here to play at Sun Bowl stadium.
Jorge Vazquez, director of Special Events at UTEP which operates the Sun Bowl, said what happened with One Direction could happen again with Beyonce and Jay-Z.
One Direction was planning a 21-stop stadium tour and UTEP was able to get the band to book a concert at the Sun Bowl in September by showing there is a demand for the show in El Paso.
Vazquez said given the number of stadium shows being planned by Beyonce and Jaz-Z that UTEP's Sun Bowl could be in the perfect spot again - this time thanks to One Direction.
"Will I be approaching the promoter? Absolutely," Vazquez told ABC-7. "There aren't too many stadium tours out there - especially of this magnitude."
The tour has not officially been announced but there have been published reports in the New York Post and Billboard, among many others, saying the joint tour is in the works.
The Los Angeles Times, citing a source close to the tour's production, is reporting that the tour will launch June 13 in Atlanta and end on Aug. 6 in San Francisco.
The superstar couple is known to make surprise appearances at each other's concerts but this would be their first tour together.
Beyonce wrapped up her Mrs. Carter World Tour on March 27 in Portugal.
Jay-Z announced Wednesday morning that his "Made In America" festival will return for a third year this year on Labor Day weekend. It will happen in Philadelphia and Los Angeles at the same time.
