How you can help Harvey survivors, aid recovery efforts

EL PASO, Texas - The Rescue Mission of El Paso is ready to help those evacuated from Houston. If you would like to help the rescue mission, call (915) 532-2575.

Salvation Army of El Paso: The public is encouraged to make in-kind donations of water, blankets, baby diapers, baby food, shampoo/conditioner, soap, deodorant, toothpaste, shaving cream, razors, and blankets. In-kind donations may be dropped off at 4300 East Paisano, El Paso, TX 79905. To make a financial donation to support the Hurricane Harvey relief efforts please go to www.helpsalvationarmy.org, call 1-800-SALARMY, text STORM to 51555. The items can be dropped off at the following locations:

 ·       El Paso County Sheriff's Office, 3850 Justice Dr. - Cafeteria

·       El Paso County Courthouse, 500 E. San Antonio Ave. - 1st & 3rd Floor Lobby areas

The American Red Cross is helping the people affected by Hurricane Harvey in Texas and all across the Gulf coast. Shelters are open, truck loads of supplies are being distributed and volunteers in place. If you would like to make a donation, click here.

The El Paso Community College and Student Government Association are holding a relief drive. Donations of nonperishable food items, water bottles, men/women/children clothing, tolietries, diapers, baby food/formula, pet food, pillows, blankets, first-aid supplies and monetary donations are accepted. The drop-off location is EPCC's Valle Verde campus, Campus Life Room C-105. Call (915) 931-2096.

The City of El Paso is asking those interested in helping locally to call 3-1-1.

Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner has established the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund that will accept donations. The fund is administered by the Greater Houston Community Foundation, a public charity. To donate, visit the GHCF website.
