Texas shoppers are taking advantage of Tax-free Weekend through out the state.
It comes with perfect timing that families are also looking for the best bargains for the back-to-school essentials.
The sales tax holiday exempts most clothing, footwear, school supplies and backpacks priced under $100 from sales and use taxes. For every $100 spent, shoppers save about $8.
The average family is expected to spend almost $670 dollars this year in back to school supplies.
Malls and department stores will be flooded with families looking to save a buck. The city's two largest malls are extending its hours during Tax-free Weekend.
Below are the extended hours for both Cielo Vista Mall and Sunland Park Mall:
Friday, August 8, 10 a.m. - 10 p.m.
Saturday, August 9, 10 a.m. - 10 p.m.
Sunday, August 10, 11 a.m. - 8 p.m.
This weekend also attracts thousands of shoppers from New Mexico and Mexico.
