Students find stranger living in basement
Ohio State roommates unknowingly house 'some random guy' in off-campus home
A group of Ohio State University students is stunned to find "some random guy" living in the basement of their off-campus house.
The male students initially joked they had a "ghost" living with them after finding the doors to their cupboards, ovens and microwaves open without explanation, campus newspaper The Lantern reported.
But they weren't laughing when maintenance workers knocked down the door to what they thought was a closet in their basement.
Inside, they found a bedroom littered with textbooks and even decorated with framed photographs.
The secret room belonged to an OSU student named Jeremy, who was not home at the time and was quickly evicted.
"He was a really nice guy," Brett Mugglin, who lives "legally" in the house, told The Lantern. "I feel bad for him. It's just, he wasn't supposed to be living there ... It's funny now, but it potentially could have been extremely dangerous given that some random guy had a key to our house and was just living in our house without anyone knowing."
The roommates are none too happy with their landlords about the situation and are considering legal action.
