WCVB-TV in Boston reported that there was gunfire and explosions in Watertown. The two men were being sought in connection with a carjacking before the alleged gunfire and explosion, according to Boston-area TV reports.

The Watertown incident occurred the same night a police officer was shot and killed on the MIT campus, not far from Watertown.

Both incidents happened just hours after the FBI released photos and video of two suspects in the Boston Marathon explosions. Law enforcement have not said if any of the incidents are related.
