EL PASO, Texas - One of the longest-serving Hispanic officials in the United States has died.
Friends of Paul Moreno confirmed to ABC-7 that the former El Paso state representative died on Friday morning.
He was 85 years old.
Former city representative Lily Limon told ABC-7 that she received a call this morning from former County Judge Alicia Chacon, who told her about Moreno's death. Chacon had gotten a call from Moreno's daughter early Friday.
Moreno, a Democrat, served as a state representative for District 77, which encompasses West and Central El Paso, from 1967 until 2008.
