New Mexico State Police arrested a Walmart employee in connection with the alleged embezzlement of thousands of dollars.
Police say that between September 16th and October 2nd, Cecilia Garcia, 41, embezzled a total of $9,453.53 from the Wal-Mart on Valley Drive in Las Cruces.
Garcia faces seven felony counts of embezzlement.
She told investigators that she needed money for her loans. She also said her daughter's car was repossessed.
On one night, Garcia removed $3,764.95 from the register, according to the police statement of probable cause.
