Socorro, NM - Mesilla Valley Regional Dispatch Authority 911 telecommunicator Paiton Bryan was named New Mexico Dispatcher of the Year 2017 at the NM Fire and EMS Expo in Socorro, NM over the weekend.
Bryan was recognized for her quick action when EMT's from American Medical Response in Las Cruces were being assaulted while rendering aid at a medical incident they responded to.
After hearing "microphone clicks" from the ambulance, Bryan concluded something was wrong and requested LCPD respond. Police officers rendered aid and arrested a suspect.
Bryan's quick action got help to the scene and for that she is honored. MVRDA is the 911 call and dispatch center for Las Cruces, Sunland Park, Mesilla, Hatch, Anthony and Dona Ana County.
