Active, retired military treated to free movies

Alamo Drafthouse to offer tickets through Sept.

EL PASO, Texas - Active and retired military personnel have an opportunity to catch a free movie at the Alamo Drafthouse for a month.

Officials with the movie theater announced the start of Military Appreciation Wednesdays beginning on Aug. 30.

All active duty and retired U.S. military personnel can show their valid military ID for a free movie ticket on any Wednesday through the last Wednesday in September.

In a news release, Alamo Drafthouse said it is also looking to honor active and retired military as well as first responders at the beginning of September.

From Friday, September 8, to Thursday, September 14, 2017, active duty and retired U.S. military personnel, firefighters, police officers and EMS plus one guest will be admitted to any screening at Alamo Drafthouse Montecillo for free.

First Responder and Military Appreciation Week coincides with the nation's annual observance of Patriot Day, a national day of service and remembrance held on September 11 of each year.
