EL PASO, Texas - Mayor Oscar Leeser is meeting monthly with select groups of El Paso businesspeople in an effort to smooth the city's relationship with the business community and improve the El Paso economy.
The mayor held the first business roundtable two weeks ago, spending an hour with 23 local businesspeople and entrepreneurs who shared ideas for boosting job creation and improving the city's quality of life.
"The biggest thing they felt we needed to move our city forward, really their No. 1 thing, was we need to improve the quality of life," Leeser said. "And I told them the No. 1 thing we need to focus on as a community is to provide jobs."
