EL PASO, Texas -

This fourth of July, Chapparal NM was one of the only places near El Paso County that allowed fireworks this year.

Vendors started cleaning early Friday morning and were finished in a couple of hours -- not a huge sacrifice, considering each stand's successful sales.

"It's Christmas in July, man," said vendor Mathis Zamora.

Zamora said he made multiple $100, $200 and $300 sales. With pockets full of profit, picking up some left over parcels is the last of his concerns.

"It is what it is," Zamora said. "Some people pick up after themselves, some people don't."

"It was cleaners but it wasn't the fourth of July without fireworks<" said one resident. "Basically it sucked."
