Country musician Dolly Parton came clean Tuesday morning about a secret lying underneath her clothes.

For years, there have been rumors that the 68-year-old star was covered in secret tattoos, rumors which were stirred up again by a report in Jezebel.com last week. During an appearance on NBC’s "The Today Show" Tuesday morning, host Savannah Guthrie asked Parton to set the record straight.

“I do have a few tattoos, but they were mostly done to cover scars, because I’m so fair and I tend to have them.”

Parton denied that she was covered in tattoos, but fessed up that she does have a few.

Will you ever see them? Likely not, Parton said.

“I have a few but they’re mostly for my husband,” Parton said with her signature giggle. Parton and her husband have been married 48 years.

Parton's appearance coincided with the release of her 42nd studio album, “Blue Smoke.”
