Organizers launch 'Welcome back to Juárez' campaign

Welcome back to Juarez

EL PASO, Texas - Thursday, the Consulate General of Mexico in El Paso, the Tourist Promotion Trust and the Ciudad Juárez Conventions and Visitors Bureau announced the "Welcome back to Juárez" campaign.

The campaign will hold trade shows at 11 different cities across the United States. It's meant to highlight Juárez's strengths in medicine and recreation. Organizers said they want to encourage people to discover and experience the culture of the city.

"Juárez is thriving. Our economy is growing. We have so much development, we have innovation, we have so many things that people don't imagine."  Elisa Garrido, international events coordinator said. "Juárez is a key city in terms of industry in the world, and people don't know that, so they need to see. We know that we need to go personally to invite them again to come and know what we have to offer."

Organizers said the campaign will kick off in San Antonio on Nov. 30. It’s expected to wrap up in February.
