$100 for any dog/cat that is at least 8 weeks old and under 3 months of age. The fee covers the spay / neuter surgery; the microchip implant which includes national registration through HomeAgain and local registration through the City of El Paso Animal Services Department; age appropriate vaccinations which consists of the first distemper / parvo booster only. The adopter will be responsible for ensuring that the puppy / kitten receives two additional boosters at 3 week intervals each. In addition, the adopter will be responsible for ensuring that the puppy / kitten receives the rabies vaccine by the time the puppy / kitten reaches 4 months of age. Humane Society of El Paso offers the distemper / parvo booster for $10 each. However, the adopter will be responsible for obtaining the rabies vaccination and city license registration. Rabies vaccinations and city license registration may be obtained at any local veterinary office.   Dependent upon the age and gender of the dog / cat, removal of sutures for the spay / neuter surgery will be required.  Humane Society of El Paso offers this service for $10 as well.

Various fees for additional animal adoptions (rabbit, birds, snakes, hamsters, guinea pigs, ferrets, etc...)  Please call our office for the adoption fee specific to the animal being adopted.

Follow up veterinary care for a newly adopted animal companion is at the sole responsibility of the adopter.  The adopter is encouraged to establish their newly adopted dog / cat with a veterinarian within 14 days after picking up their pet.

Animal adoptions are on a first come, first served basis only because our goal is to save lives through the process of animal adoptions.

Full payment of an animal adoption fee is required in order to secure an adoption.  Partial payments are not accepted.  It is worthy to note that an animal adoption could be cancelled if the animal is reclaimed by its rightful owner prior to finally releasing the animal to the adopter.

Looking for a specific breed to adopt?  Animal Services frequently receives popular dog breeds.  One can request to be placed on a wish list so as to be notified whenever Animal Services receives the breed that you are interested in.  However, the adoption of the animal will remain on a first come / first served basis.  Notification of requested availability does not secure an adoption.  Requests for cats or other animal species are also accepted.
