Michelle Monaghan, star of “Eagle Eye,” “Mission: Impossible III,” and “Gone Baby Gone,” has been visiting the Medical Simulation Training Center at Fort Bliss this week to learn basic medic skills for her upcoming major motion picture to be filmed at Fort Bliss.
The film, called "Fort Bliss," is in pre-production. Monaghan will portray a veteran of the war in Afghanistan struggling to rebuild her relationship with her young son.
The film also will star Ron Livingston ("Ten Year" and "The Odd Life of Timothy Green"). Livingston's role in the film has not been announced.
Earlier this month, Fort Bliss' public affairs office posted on the Fort Bliss Facebook page a casting call for "a blond-haired six-year-old boy. No acting experience is required, but the production team is insistent that the actor is the son of an active duty Soldier on Fort Bliss." Parents interested should email email@example.com
The movie, with a reported budget of $2 million, is being directed and written by Claudia Myers. It has not been announced when filming will start.
