In the wake of the tragedy in Connecticut there has been a lot of talk about what can be done to prevent such tragedies in the future.

Some say greater gun restrictions are needed, while other say how mental illness plays into it should not be ignored.

Another aspect is a lack of compassion and empathy as seen by some Twitter users when President Obama's speech at a Connecticut memorial service preempted Sunday Night Football and other network shows.

There were several tweets that used the "n word" to describe Obama and demanded he get off their TV so they can watch the game.
