EL PASO, Texas -

UTEP football coach Sean Kugler’s full, 14-page contract has been released.

He will earn a base salary of $280,000 a year during his five-year contract.

He will also get $220,000 for speaking engagements, coach’s shows, etc.   as assigned by the university.

The contract also has strong language related to discipline.

Other interesting aspects of the contract are below.

If Kugler leaves:

If UTEP fires Kugler, they have to pay him his base salary until the end of his deal.  If he gets another job, the school's payments are reduced by the amount he gets at the new job.  Or, they cease entirely if the new job pays more than this one.

Kugler also would have to provide a W2 proving what his new wages are at the new job.

Other incentives in Kugler's contract include:

UTEP hired Kugler in early December. He succeeds Mike Price, who announced his retirement just before the 2012 season ended.

Price had a base salary of $267,800 a year.
