Family stranded 14-plus hours in the Franklin Mountains found

Hikers had been out since 3 p.m. the previous day

EL PASO, Texas -

Rescue crews found a family that had been lost overnight in the Franklin Mountains State Park Tuesday morning.

Officials say the family of 5 began their trek in the mountains at 3 p.m. Monday afternoon. However, the search and rescue operation did not begin till early Tuesday morning. We are told there were no injuries, and a border patrol helicopter located the missing family just before 6 a.m. Tuesday morning.
