1964: The Rolling Stones make their first appearance on "The Ed Sullivan Show," performing "Time is on My Side" and the Chuck Berry classic "Around & Around." The crowd goes wild and the show draws great ratings, but Sullivan was at first reluctant to invite the band back, upset at how worked up the crowd had become and the band's unkempt and shaggy looks. Ultimately, the band would appear on the show five more times through 1969.
