Khalid recognized by Forbes

EL PASO, Texas - El Paso musician Khalid is being recognized by business magazine Forbes.

He is on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list of musicians who are "topping charts and shifting culture."

The judges include Skylar Grey, a singer-songwriter who was recognized by Forbes in its Under 30 Class of 2013, Bob Moczydlowsky, the managing director of TechStars Music, and Kevin Olusola, a Grammy-winning member of Pentatonix and Under 30 Class of 2016.

They praised Khalid, 19, for his hit single "Location" and his debut album "American Teen" which was released in March and reached number 4 on the charts. The single has been certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.

The teen attended Americas High School in El Paso and has often thanked the Sun City for supporting him.
