The pedestrian struck by a pickup truck Thursday in El Paso has died from his injuries, according to authorities.
A spokesman for the El Paso Police department says 60-year-old Miguel Carlos Corona was crossing Santa Fe Street Thursday around 2:14 pm when he was hit by a 2004 white Dodge 1500 pickup truck driven by 26-year-old David Hernandez-Prieto.
Police add that Corona was trying to cross Santa Fe from west to east, but not at a crosswalk when the truck hit him. Hernandez Prieto was driving westbound on Missouri and turned south onto Santa Fe when he hit Corona.
Paramedics took the victim to University Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries. Investigators think that Corona not crossing in the crosswalk contributed to the crash.
