EL PASO COUNTY, Texas -- Newly installed El Paso County Ethics Commissioner Luis Garcia is stepping down before the board holds its first meeting on Wednesday.
Garcia told ABC-7 he feels a recent opinion piece from commission Chairman Stuart Leeds compromised the entire commission.
"But the approach (of the) commentary that was made is what tainted whatever objectivity was going to be portrayed," Garcia said.
Leeds told ABC-7 he regrets Garcia's decision and wishes him the best.
The commission will meet at 3 p.m. at the County Courthouse.
