SILVER CITY, N.M. - A Silver High School teacher accused of having a sexual relationship with a student has been arrested, announced New Mexico State Police Thursday.
NMSP officials said Tiana Sanchez was arrested Thursday and charged with four counts of criminal sexual penetration of a child. She was booked into the Grant County Detention Center.
Investigators said NMSP officers were contacted by the mother of a Silver City High student last Friday. She gave investigator's her son's cell phone after she believed the device contained text and photographs shared between her son and Sanchez.
NMSP said investigators interviewed the student who admitted he had sexual intercourse with Sanchez approximately four times within the last month.
Officials said investigators verified that the student's phone contained text and photographs with sexual content between the student and Mrs. Sanchez.
