EL PASO, Texas - The eight-year-old boy who passed out after being placed in a "choke hold" suffered a concussion, a neck sprain and facial abrasions, a court document states.
El Paso Police arrested and charged Frank Molina with "Injury To A Child."
On Saturday, November 19, Molina allegedly grabbed the victim by the hair, pulled him off a bicycle and threw him to the ground, police said. The alleged abuse happened shortly before 5 p.m. on the 10500 block of Montwood.
The boy told police Molina placed him a head lock and walked him to the wall of an apartment complex, where Molina allegedly grabbed him by the neck with both hands and squeezed, documents state.
The victim told police he swung his arms in an effort to defend himself and hit Molina in the face. Molina allegedly became even more upset, squeezed the victim's neck harder and lifted the victim off the ground, the court document further states.
A witness told police the boy lost consciousness and suffered facial abrasions when he fell to the ground head first. A doctor at the hospital where the victim was treated told police the boy also suffered a concussion and a neck sprain.
Investigators learned about the incident Monday, November 21, 2016. Molina was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility on a bond of $10,000.
