Associated Press - October 2, 2009 5:15 PM ET

SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) - A Santa Fe attorney was convicted Friday of vehicular homicide in the death of a pedestrian in the capital city last November.

The trial of Carlos Fierro began Sept. 21, and jurors have deliberated for the past four days.

The jury deadlocked on a charge of leaving the scene of an accident.

Police have said the 36-year-old Fierro was at the wheel of a vehicle that struck 46-year-old William Tenorio of San Felipe Pueblo last Nov. 26. They say the vehicle then left the scene.

Santa Fe Deputy Police Chief Aric Wheeler has said Fierro's blood-alcohol level was 0.21 when hospital personnel took a blood sample about an hour after the crash.

The legal driving limit is 0.08.
