DALLAS (AP) - A Texas topless club owner says the decision by Newt Gingrich's conservative group to rescind her business award and dinner date is just plain rude.
One minute, Dawn Rizos was set to receive an "Entrepreneur of the Year" award for her business acumen from American Solutions for Winning the Future, which the former U.S. House speaker chairs.
The next minute, the award for the owner of The Lodge, a popular Dallas gentleman's club, and the accompanying private Oct. 7 dinner with Gingrich in Washington were yanked away.
Apparently the Gingrich group confused Rizos' business with one by the same name in Virginia, except employees of the Old Dominion business keep their clothes on.
Rizos says she's disappointed; she was looking forward to sharing her political views with Gingrich.
