Officials from Holloman Air Force Base say an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) crashed Friday morning.

This crash happened one day after officials formally announced the base would be the training center for the aircraft, the MQ-1 and MQ-9, which are remote-controlled bombers used in Afghanistan.

According to a base spokeswoman, a Predator was taking off Friday morning when it hit a fence and crashed on base property.

No one was hurt in the crash. The Predator costs between five to seven million dollars.
