ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Forest Service officials are letting a fire south of Tijeras burn because the area is too dangerous to send crews into.
The area was once the scene of munitions testing during the Cold War and authorities are concerned there may be unexploded bombs in the area.
Fire officials say the area has received a decent amount of moisture, so they don't expect the fire to grow.
The 20-acre fire wasn't threatening any homes, but authorities said if it shifted and moved closer to structures, the Forest Service might have to attack it from the air.
