EL PASO COUNTY, Texas -- The El Paso County Sheriff's Office is seeking a man wanted for a 2004 homicide.
On Jan. 13. 2004, 46-year-old Armando Ignacio Hernandez was found stabbed to death in his Westway home. The sheriff's office is seeking 26-year-old Carlos Urquidi in connection with the murder.
Authorities were close to apprehending Urquidi on several occasions in 2004 as he tried to contact relatives in Anthony, New Mexico.
Sheriff's officials believe Urquidi fled to Mexico to elude authorities, and now they believe Urquidi may once again be attempting to return to the area. He may be on the move among Anthony, New Mexico; El Paso, Texas; Midland, Texas; Albuquerque, New Mexico; Durango, Colorado; Tucson, Arizona; and Chihuahua, Mexico.
Urquidi is described as a Hispanic male, of medium build, 5'8" tall, about 160 lbs. with a "Tribal Wreath" tattoo on his left arm, face of an Indian on his right arm and a tattoo on his chest which reads "Urquidi".
Urquidi is considered armed and dangerous, sheriff's officials said. His bond is set at $250,000.
If anyone has seen or knows the whereabouts of Urquidi they are urged to call Crime Stoppers of El Paso at 566-TIPS (8477). Callers will remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward if the information provided leads to the apprehension of the individuals featured.
