4 arrested during Sheriff's Office desert area patrols

EL PASO COUNTY, Texas -- El Paso County Sheriff's deputies arrested four people and cited 10 juveniles during stepped-up patrols in desert areas during high school graduation celebrations.

Two of the areas include behind the Socorro Activities Complex and Red Sands. Sheriff's officials said the areas are being targeted because activities such as shootings, underage drinking parties and other crimes have occurred there.

Operation Desert Sweep was launched last week and will continue this week.

The following four people were arrested:

Robert Gonzalez, 18 of the 600 block of Cascada in Horizon City

Charge: Evading arrest/detention with vehicle, $1,500 bond

 

 

Raymond Perales, 24, of the 600 block of Delhi in Socorro, Texas

Charge: Traffic warrant (driving while license invalid), $263.20 fine

 

 

Jaime Lopez, 32, of the 6100 block of Tejas in El Paso

Charge: Possession of controlled substance (cocaine), $1,000 bond 

 

Thomas Lee McCombs, 27 of the 300 block of E. Nevada in El Paso

Charge: Robbery (warrant), no bond; burglary of habitation (warrant), no bond

In addition, officials said six juveniles were cited for minor consumption of alcohol, two were cited for curfew violation, one was cited for open container and one was cited for possession of alcohol.
