Anchor / Reporter
Proud to be from the Sun City, I was born and raised in El Paso's Lower Valley and graduated from Riverside High School in 2004.
I credit my middle school teacher, Ms. Reyes, for my interest in journalism. She handed me a camera in eighth grade and allowed my creativity to air on a weekly news show. It was amateur, to say the least, but sparked my curiosity in all things news.
I received my bachelor's degree in electronic media and a minor in Chicano studies from the University of Texas at El Paso in 2009. I was also a part of the university's drill/dance team for two years. Whenever the Miners are in action, I'm usually sporting my orange and blue!
I have been a part of the KVIA family since 2009, I started as a producer for Good Morning El Paso Weekend, then moved to producer for Good Morning El Paso Monday through Friday. I have also been a part of the longest running high school football show as a reporter for the Borderland Blitz.
My career in journalism up until now has allowed me to experience both sides of the camera, and I greatly appreciate the hard work from every employee here at KVIA.
El Paso is like no other place, with stories to tell and issues that need to be brought to light. That is why I'm here, to tell the stories of my hometown, which I am very much proud of.
You can catch me Saturdays and Sundays on Good Morning El Paso Weekend from 6-7 and 8-9 a.m., anchoring with Matthew Smith and reporting on the latest issues during the week.
