David is a native of El Paso and the youngest of five children. He is a graduate of Riverside High School in El Paso's Lower Valley.
Prior to joining KVIA, David was a production assistant for seven years at Time Warner Cable, where he covered local sports, including high school volleyball, football, and basketball, in addition to UTEP athletics. He also worked on the weekly coaches shows with football coach Mike Price and basketball coach Tim Floyd.
He attended the Colorado School of Mines and the University of Texas at El Paso to pursue engineering, but his passion for sports and electronic media veered him into a new direction.
David began his career at KVIA as the station's first overnight reporter. He is also a photographer for the Borderland Blitz. After only a short time as an overnight reporter, he became a daytime multimedia journalist.
David enjoys watching sports and spending his time with his 2-year-old daughter, Ava, and stepson Javen.
